Switzerland to suspend visa facilitation deal with Russia on Sep 19

ZURICH, Sep 16 (PRIME) -- Switzerland has decided to suspend its visa facilitation agreement with Russia on September 19, Lukas Rieder, spokesperson for the State Secretariat for Migration of Switzerland, told PRIME on Friday.

“The execution of the visa facilitation agreement with Russia will be suspended on September 19, 2022,” he said.

The E.U. suspended its visa facilitation agreement with Russia, which had been in effect since 2007, on September 12. The Swiss government decided to join the decision earlier on Friday.
